The Memorial of Adolfa Kašpar

The memorial hall of the famous painter and illustrator Adolf Kašpar (1877 - 1934) was established in his former house in 1970. On the house, there is the memorial tablet and Kašpar’s bust sculpted by Julius Pelikán in 1954. The memorial shows eighty Kašpar’s original works including the study for the book Babička by Božena Němcová. Also, there are a plethora of photographs, letters and other documents concerning Kašpar’s life. In the former loft studio, many books illustrated by Kašpar are displayed. The Memorial houses a permanent exposition of the history of Loštice from prehistoric times up to the present. For example, there are interesting exhibits of Loštice goblets. The exposition also calls attention to the Jewish Quarter (see a unique map of Jewish houses from 1727).
